Lisa Gayhart appointed User Experience Librarian

ITS is pleased to announce that Lisa Gayhart has moved into the new role of User Experience Librarian, effective February 1, 2015.

Since joining the University of Toronto Libraries in 2013, Lisa has established herself as a subject matter expert in the application of user experience design principles to academic library services. During her tenure as the Digital Communications Services Librarian, Lisa’s knowledge in the areas of usability, web design, accessibility, and assessment made her a valuable team asset on a wide range of digital projects.

Lisa has also demonstrated a commitment to professional development through her publications and busy presentation schedule. Later this month, she will be delivering a presentation entitled, “Measure Twice, Cut Once: Taking the Time for User Research in Your Redesign Project” at the Electronic Resources & Libraries conference in Austin, Texas.

In her new role, Lisa looks forward to collaborating with librarians throughout the University community to assess and respond to our users’ behaviours and needs. She will also continue to advocate for a consistently excellent user experience.

Congratulations, Lisa!
