UTL is committed to providing all users with equitable access to University of Toronto Libraries’ digital spaces, such as the library catalogue, central libraries’ websites, and digital collections. New web spaces are planned and built with accessibility in mind, with the goal of reaching Level AA standards, as outlined by the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act). Recently launched and heavily redesigned web spaces have also been assessed for web accessibility and updated accordingly.
Online spaces are tested with various tools, including WAVE, Chrome Vox, JAWS, Contrast Checker, and HTML_CodeSniffer, and with individuals with and without disabilities (in-person and online). If you are interested in participating in in-person or online accessibility testing, please contact us.
